Run 1795 – 5th February 2007
The Run:
What a run. Catered for the sprinters, the normal runners and the walkers. The hare even assisted the pack when they got lost.
Started from the car park at M&M Electrical and headed off along Benison Road. A check half way along had us then heading into the city side of the Charles Darwin Park. Most of the walkers did not even make it that far and just took the front entrance access road and headed for the top car park. Once into the park the run just twisted and turned in every which direction. The front runners, as usual, took off like startled gazelles never to be seen again. The normal hash runners followed the trail. They could hear the gazelles but could not see them for the thick foliage and the fact they did not know how to hold a check. At one point the gazelles and normal hash runners did meet when the 2 packs took different trails and ended back at the same check. Everyone eventually ended up at the car park on top of the hill. They came in from all directions. Obviously not everyone followed the trail. Everyone was expecting a piss stop but the pack did not deserve one so it was ON ON home.
The base run get a score of 3 for the venue and use of the park. Minus 2 for no snags and minus 1 for no butter on the bread. Plus 1 for not having a piss stop as the pack, for not holding checks, did not deserve one. There must be another point for the garlic. Nice to go home to the other half with a sweet smelling garlic and beer breath. 2
